Workshops, dances, concerts and amazing performance ” Midsummer’s Night Tale” and much more is waiting for lovers of Folk Inspirations in the Folk City-the city which is present until Sunday on the Manufaktura square in Lodz.
10 zones (Edu_Zone, Handicraft Zone, Many Cultures Zone, Fashion_Zone, Folk-Photo, Animation Zone, Folk Cinema, Dance_Place, Ethno-Folk Stage, Volunteering Zone) with various workshops, animations, dance and fun places, great folk scene will be full of festival participants from 10 countries and specially invited bands whose work is also inspired by folk music.
Workshops for students from Lodz schools, the Golden Boat Competition – vocal category, teaching “Dabka” -the national dance on Marufaktura square led by specialists in this field – a group from Palestine, Belarusian-Georgian-Russian evening filled with wonderful dances and vocal presentations of festival participants and folk group OFF OREADA concert are already over.
But there are still workshops waiting for us in the City Zones that are open for citizens (Friday and Saturday afternoons, Sunday all day), dances from different parts of the world, creating ice artistic installation – “Fern Flower” (Friday at 15:30) meetings with interesting people with passion (every day at 13:00 and 16:00), Golden Boat Competition – choreography (Saturday 15:00 – 19:00), fashion show “FOLK FASHION” (Saturday at 19:00 ), “Get tangled in a volunteering net ” – learning how create a dream catcher (Sunday 16:00).
In the evenings we also invite you to take part in folk cinema sessions (Friday and Saturday at 18:00) and to have fun together at the concerts on our Ethno-Folk stage:
On Friday: 18.00 to 20.00 participants of the festival from Poland will invite you to sing folk songs together, 20: 30-22.00 jazz folk pop group THE FROZEN HEART and folk group TRYGŁAW. At 22:30 Manufaktura will be filled with lasers, lights, singing and dancing as if from the Fern flower fable, the Polish-Belarusian-Ukrainian performance will be the most important part of Friday night.
on Saturday: at 19: 30- 21:00 ZABABDEH dance group from Palestine and Polish-Palestinian group BUKRA will fill the stage with Arabic rhythms, later we invite you to have fun together with Ukrainian participants of the festival accompanied by Ukrainian rhythms.
On Sunday: at 18: 30-20: 30 a great jubilee concert of POLTEX Song and Dance group, then the stage will be filled with the African rhythms with BalletNjiing MBANDE from Angola, at 21:00 at the end of the FESTIVAL, the Belarusian group “LALKI CORPORATION”.
